Export Taillights

Alright, just for anyone interested. I work for GM's lighting systems supplier and we do in fact still make export taillights. The problem is that they are just a 97+ taillight with the reflex deadened. This means that they look exactly the same, and anyone with a broken export tail will have to replace both with these new style. They also come with the proper socket holes to fit the export sockets. They don't look like candy corn anymore.

Good info. I live overseas and tried to find them but the part number no longer came up anymore.

Re: Export Taillights

The lights that I can get would be somewhere in the range of 50-75 each and look exactly like the LS1 taillight from the outside. The difference is internally they have no reflex, which is required in america and the main reason why the majority of import-ricer taillights are illegal...

Let me know if anyone needs them for any reason,
Ryan

sorry Ryan....... do you speak from Camaro or Firebird taillights??
I'm wondering about the "LS1" in your last posting... sounds like Firebird

Re: Export Taillights

I appologize for not being clear. I am speaking of Camaro taillights. To my knowledge the firebird taillights never had anything special done to them to be exports.

Re: Export Taillights

Most people are wanting the 93-96 export taillights, not the 97-02. The 97-02 are just like the ones that are in the U.S. already.

BTW The firebirds were a little different, they had a extra small reflector that ran across the bottom.
