i want my car to be a louder for the summer, just to be annoying around town and at the beach etc. etc. i have hooker catback right now on my 96 Z28, i was thinking of takin the muffler and tips off and replacing it with a dynomax bullet and a turn down and be done with it...what do you think about the setup? too loud? to raspy? please give me your opinion? thanks

 

I hate dynomax bullets. They sound like crap.

Get a cutout.

 

I have what you are describing on my car. Dynomax turn down before the axle. It is loud, which is what I wanted, but in my opinion not unbearable. It almost begs you to stand on the gas just to hear the sound. At highway speeds in 6th, its really not that bad at all.

The one thing that can be excessive is the POP that comes when you let off the gas after accelerating. It litterally sounds like a shotgun This varies and is sometiems worse when the car is cold. It can be controlled by not abrubtly dropping the rpms down to idle.

The setup is cheap and easy to remove if you use clamps for the install.

 

had that setup on my car both with just boltons (LTs no cats) and after i installed the cam.

it's a good, loud, cheap setup.

raspy but it gets attention.

hell i still have the bullet and turndown if you want them for a little $$, painted black to blend in

 

i would be interested in the bullet and turndown teke184 let me know how much shipped and is it 3in in and out? and also when is the earliest you could get it to me..im in PA.

 

i heard that cutouts can go bad quickly or they start to leak (if its an electric cut out) and i dont feel like climbing under my car everytime (if i would get a manual cutout) i wanna be "annoying" or loud..

 

Another vote for a cutout.

 

Yea the only cure is a cutout. Cheap, perfect. Get one - put it where everyone puts it.
