What kind of tape is used in the engine compartment? I see it around the grommets coming out of the firewall and around plastic electrical wire covers. It must stand up to heat very well, much better than duct-tape. It's black but couldn't be flimsy electrical tape which would come off in a week with the heat in the engine compartment. So what kind of high-heat tape is it? Where would I get it and what would I ask for?

 

the trick with using electrical tape is, when you use it put a torch to it, and heat it up real good, and it will last damn near forever and wont unravel.
