So I picked up an A/C Delete pulley from Advanced for 26.80 ( I had them match rock auto) I wanted to go GM but I don't have the time to wait for it to get here. I pulled it out of the box and it looked decent, but it's made in China, which i've been trying to avoid. It does have a lifetime warranty so that's a plus and the pulley diameter is the same as stock so I should be able to use the same belt.

The problem is, the holes in delete pulley bracket are tapped, well actually cast with threads in them to match the fastener. Only problem is, the A/C compressor didn't have threads. So now i'm thinking I should just drill these holes out so the bolts slide through them. Has anybody had experience with this pulley? What did you do?

Sorry you could not wait. The Chinese ones don't have a very good track record from complaints I have read.

Little update. I pulled the assembly apart, it seemed that the inner race didn't have enough contact with the washer on the front of the pulley, so I sanded that down a bit to give a bit more clamping force. The bearings had a little play in them, but from what I read the OEM pulley has this also. I put it under the drill press and drilled out the mounting locations on the delete bracket so the stock bolts would slide through and installed it. The stock belt works fine and everything looks good when it's running. The car ran a bit funny, then I remembered I pulled the #4 spark plug wire off the plug when I trying to get the A/C stuff out. The manifolds were a bit warm trying to get the wire back on, on the side of the road.

I'm going to drive the car to work tomorrow (90 miles round trip) hopefully she doesn't let me down.

If I had to pay the 39.98 they wanted before the pricematch, it would have went right back into the box, but for 26.90 with a lifetime warranty I'll give it a shot.
