Question Does SLP Traction Control module fit a 96 Z28?

Does anyone know if the SLP traction control module (part # 63014) fits a 1996 Z28 with ASR? It is only listed for 1997-1998.

Thanks!
Lee

Re: Does SLP Traction Control module fit a 96 Z28?

I spoke to SLP yesterday. They said that it does not fit a 96. They couldn't tell me exactly why. He said it has something to do with the computer. I'm not sure I beleive that. The ASR button is different and in a different location since they redesigned the dash for 97 and up. Could be differnet connectors and/or that there is no room to put the module in the console.

Anyone tried it on a 96?

I've only seen that module in pictures, though I've thought of getting one myself. Judging by the pic, I think you're on the right track thinking that it doesn't work due to connectors or space. I'm just guessing, though.

Do you have a switch on the console to turn it off? If you don't, your car doesn't have it. GM calls it ASR (Aceleration Slip Regulation).
