Bondo Help...
Since removing my dirty underhood sound deadener (probably a bad idea), I've noticed there are many holes in our hoods around the 2 non functional hood vent areas. As a result, I have water related misfiring whenever it rains because I noticed that water drips directly onto the spark plug coil pack. It doesn't happen when I was my car, but that's probably because the rain is more constant. I've been using different types of RVT silicone, but it doesn't hold forever.
So, I'm looking for a more permenant solution. I've heard of different Bondo products, like 'Metal To Metal', that might work. But I can't seem to find any information on them. Do you guys know of any filler that I can use to plug up the holes on the underside of my hood and be able to handle all the heat from the engine? |
Re: Bondo Help...
Get a fiberglass repair kit. Bondo is only used to fill small depressions not holes.

Re: Bondo Help...
Ok, thanks...Will it withstand the heat though?

Re: Bondo Help...
 You might want to try a pool patch putty:eek: The stuff gets as hard as a rock and can be painted, cheap too. I use it to fill holes in metal doors all the time.:D

Re: Bondo Help...
Yes, all these products will handle the heat just fine. Really not that hot.
Not sure why you think removing the insulation would be a problem either? The "SS" comes without any. |
