Hey guys, my left cat is clogged. Can that cause the car to run bad, and how so? And what should I do next to alleviate the problem?

yeah it'll cause your car to run less than optimal. it can cause your car to not run at all if it gets clogged enough. what symptoms did you have anyway? replace it. i'd assume you have 2 cats, you could just replace the one thats clogged, but i'd replace both. you could remove them or gut them, but if you have emissions you'll fail.

You have a '97, right? If you still have under 80K miles on it, then a bad cat is covered under the emissions warranty, which is 8 years / 80,000 miles.
