Anybody know a VA Inspector thats Camaro friendly

Gone to 3 state inspection stations, and everyone says my seats are illegal. I have corbeau Forza seats and new belts. Everyone has been unwilling to pass the car because they say the seats are a violation.

Not sure what it is about my car they don't like. Honestly that is the only thing wrong, everything else is new and in working order. The car has past the va state inspection and emissions for the last two years without any cheating, and in the current setup (except belts, I replace them every 2 years - just did)!

Thanks for any suggestions.

where are you? My buddy owns a station in Fredericksburg. I'm pretty sure he opened it already. I'll call him tomorrow. I gotta check on my IROC progress anyway.

Thanks,

I ask and they say that there not legal in broken english, I have tried all the local places and they say the same thin.

The belts are 4pt Corbeau belts, I don't have the stock ones accessible at the moment and I don't think it would be safe with those type seats since there fixed.

Are they supposed to be 5 pts? They have passed the last two years without any problem. Maybe a new law, but nobody can seem to explain, I have sent an email to the State Police asking them to clarify the sitution.

Waiting on a reply. Thanks guys for responding.

Sounds like its just somethign out of the ordianry they havent seen, so they just assume they're not legal. My friends Malibu has passed for years with a 5pt harness, but Im in Tx.

In Va anything but the factory seat belts is illegal. Even though a 4 and 5 point harness is safer thats not how they look at it.

Why did you take out the factory seat belt? Thats only needed when the car is strictly a race car and sees little to no street miles.

You should be able to find someone that will give you a sticker. I have all kinds of illegal stuff on my car and about half the places in town give me a sticker no problem. You should hang out at shop every once in a while. I hang out at the muffler shops in town every once in a while and they give me a sticker no questions asked. The only time they see my car is when they scrape out the old sticker to put in a new one. You wouldn't think that there would be that much difference between Virginia where you are and WV where I am.
