Which alternator

I will be buying a new alternator soon. Which would yall get? I know advanced, autozone and orileys all have one for around 140. All three carry a lifetime warranty which is a good thing. But which one would be the better of them if any? thanks in advance.

Get one with a lifetime warranty in your amperage rating and spend the least you can. It is only about a 15 minute job to change one out if one you buy bites the dust.

They are all rebuilt and thus subject to the same quality control issues. If you have the skills and patience, your original can be rebuilt. The kits are available on Fleabay, and the videos are on youtube.

i'd rather get one with a lifetime warranty then rebuild one. IMO

It may depend on how many times you want to remove and replace it. My brother has done this multiple times on his non-fbody vehicle. Perhaps he is the exception, but I personally prefer to know what has been done. But that is just me.

Well I changed the alternator today and funny enough it still is doing the same thing. The battery is good and it has a new alternator and the voltage is still reading low. All connections are good and everything else. Is there something I am missing

Buy a new one if you don't want to have to change it out constantly.
