Air filter replacement Cool blue or K&N

Which do you think would be a better replacement air filter? Dont need a CAI just a replacement filter for a stock air box. Thanks

I had a K&N, dont use it anymore... I read an article in Hot Rod mag, I believe, that did a comparing to different filters.... The only difference was about 200 cfm between paper and K&N... And the paper did clean better... And HP was minimum.. AT the track I just remove my filter....:) Never seen the Cool Blue, heard about it, but no info....

Yea if you are going to get a k&n filter which is what like $40 brand new you could get a used cai for around $100 so I would just save a little for a cai.

Lots of people hate K&N cuz they don't feel it works well (or at all), then other poeple think the exact polar opposite. I'm in the middle, never had problems with one, looks good, and every little 1hp increase helps right? ;)

Cool blue vs. K&N...........color. Thats about it. Pick either one. Any other differences are too small to debate over.

But the best course would be a CAI, you can find a used one for cheap to save a few bucks and boost your hp a little bit at the same time.

Pick one. I'm not concerned with the hp gain as much as I'm happy that I don't ever have to waste money on air filters ever again.

Then just use pantyhose, spray alittle oil on it, and ta-da---- You have a filtation system that basically cost nothing and works just as good as the others(exclude paper).... ;)

Seriously, the decision is yours... :)

I would go with a paper filter too. The do clean better... My cars lifespan is more important the .00000000005 % hp increase.. :)

The Holley doesn't require the extra gasket. So you can go back to paper, and/or sell the filter, and/or swap lids, without having to deal with that self-adhesive gasket that K&N wants another $12 to replace....

Kool Blue = 100% Surgical cotton.. Filters down to 2.8 microns,

K&N = We subject a sample of our filter designs to this test procedure using Coarse Test Dust, which includes particles ranging in size from less than 5.5 microns to 176 microns.

Guess it would come down to the flow capabilities...?

I like the Kool Blue, but car is red? perplexed...

Just hit the filter with the cleaning agent and spray it with K&N oil. That should turn it red. :)
