97 v8 and v6 fuel tank sending units?
 

I'm doing a v8 conversion on my 97 v6. I have been looking at sending units and confused. On my 97 v6 it is held on the tank by about 6 bolts and has a somewhat square flange for the tank opening. I know this to be the original tank in the car.

Now the problem, I have been looking at 97 V8 sending units and they appear from all I have seen to have a round flange and what appears to be a lock ring. Like older 3rd gen f-bodies.

However both show 4 lines off the sending unit. Can I resuse my v6 sending unit in this conversion? My pump is newer and seems to run my 3.8's fuel pressure at about 45psi which I would guesstimate to be fine for the LT1.

Or am I just seeing generic pictures from websites and the v8 and v6 sending units are the same?

I have never seen a square(ish) flange on the sending unit. And the V6 fuel pressure (min of 48 psi) is higher than the V8 (max of 47), and the volume is lower. it also has a different part number, as you might expect. The V8 unit has bolts also, not a locking ring.

so it will run a v8?
