97 Tan Interior to Black...need some answers

Howdy,

I'm not a large fan of bright interiors and want to get rid of my tan interior so i can continue my black/blue interior theme. I plan on ordering the black carpet from year one, but where can i get the door panels, plastic pieces, and seats? Should i just look for a wrecked Black/Ebony interior out of a 97+ camaro? After the carpet i'll have about $400 to buy everything needed if you guys needed a price range. I refuse to paint/dye my interior and prefer to stick with GM original parts.

Also am i missing anything on that short list...plastic pieces, seats, door panels, carpet, and headliner?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

***NOTE*** Would plastic panels and door panels out of a 95 camaro work on my 97? Is there any difference between these production years interior panels?

seat belts, dash, stearing wheel, I opted to dye mine and it is turning out pretty good. You can find a lot of the parts on the web but black seams to be the most popular to change to.

These are the same. The door panels and plastic pieces are the same. One thing you might want to look into is swapping some TA parts into your car. If you are gonna swap in seats and door panels might as well add TA stuff.

First off, I'll start by saying that if $400. is all you have to work with you might as well forget about getting your project done in a timely fashion. I don't think you can even get the front seats for $400. 2nd, the interior color "ebony" wasn't available until the 2000 model year.

Well american muscle salvage said he could get me all the plastic pieces shipped to my door for $300. I already have a black dash, console, and floormats.
1. What parts would you swap in from a TA besides seats?

2. Whats the difference between the camaro doorpanels and the TA doorpanels? Im trying to keep it mostly camaro style parts...maybe you have pics of the difference between the 2 door panels?

4. Would you guys just go buy some WS6 seats or reupholster mine in black cloth with a chevy symbol in a dark blue? I'd have to reupholster my cloth seats in cloth again, i don't have $1000 for leather, lol.

I appreciate your help,
Dave

** $400 is the most i want to spend on plastics, trim pieces, door panels, and a headliner. I'll have $600 in reserve but id like to spend that on my 7" Clarion deck after i sell my $400 JVC deck.

I would go with TA seats and Door panels. TA seats are 10x more comfortable and they hug you a lot more. Here is a link to my site. I'm currently running the setup in the top picture. I started out with white TA panels and then went to Graphite TA door panels with the tweeters and TA seats http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/670773/4
I still need to get my TA seats recovered. The TA stuff looks 10x better IMO and it gives you something diff. Also you can get imitation leather repo seat covers for only $50 more than you can cloth seat covers at www.hawksthirdgenparts.com

The door panels on the Firebirds and Camaros are completely different. It may be more cost effective for you to just remove your old seat covers and replace them with the color of your choice.

Im just gonna go with the black 95 door panels and recover my seats. Trans am door panels are a little nicer since they have the tweeter and everything...but oh well, i can always get TA door panels and seats later. Just wanna get my new clarion and my black/blue interior theme done. Gotta take my RF amp apart and switch out the LED's in that to blue from the factory as well, kinda sucks but oh well. Then to save up $4000 for black paint and silver stripes.
