Exclamation '95 Camaro as first car?

Hey guys, Im looking to buy a car, ive checked the ads and such, and have came across the chevy camaro, i only have about 3,000 to spend, so i found a few cars, most of them the 95 camaro...all of them being between 100, and 130K miles, but seem to be in excellent shape, i know bearly anything about cars (computer geek) but i was wondering, because a friend of mine discouraged me about buying a car with over 100K miles being American made, personly, i'd rather own an American car, then anything else, my father had a '66(?) camaro back when he was my age, but for about $2-3K should i purchase a 95' camaro with about 100K miles, if it tests drives smooth, and has service records and such all in good shape, do you think it will last? if so how long? Honestly i love these cars, but i want a car that will last, what do you guys think?

thanks a hell of alot guys! =D

If it is going to be a daily driver, I would look for a car that you feel comfortable driving all year round. With your budget, you most likely will only be finding higher milage cars anyways, whether it be a Camaro or something else.

I got a 94 as my first car, and it was nice, but I got a V6, which I really regret. Most people think that if you get a Z28, it will have higher insurance, but with my company (Nationwide), they call a Camaro a Camaro, be it a Z28 or V6. So if you get one, get a Z from the start.

If you keep changing your oil and keep up maintenance, if it's not messed up before you buy it, it will run well for a long time.
