No power to my fuel pump on a 2002 camaro z28
 

I have a 2002 camaro Z28
I am not getting no power to my fuel pump at all even the fuel gage will not move
I change the key and cylinder thinking it the vads
I jumped the fuel relay with a power wire the pump started
So I changed the ECM
Still nothing
No power at all going to the pump.. I really need some pointers here.. This is a really big pain
Also I have a new pump

You need to find out were the power loss is coming from sounds like its not getting power threw the relay. I'm not a mechanic so my help is going to be limited there are some pro's on here that know
there way around a camaro like no one else . search shoebox on here look under his Sig at( how to)

You said you replaced the key and lock cylinder. Did you make sure the new key has the same resistance value as the old one. If you still have the old key you can hook up a mulitmeter to the chip to check resistance, then compare it to the one in the new key. I dont have a list of the values, but I know there are 15 possibilities.

The comp looks for a signal from the vats, if it recieves the right signal then it will energize the the fuel pump and ignition system.

If not, definatly check out shoeboxs website and start tracing wires in the fuel system

If it was a VATS problem, the SECURITY light would have been flashing. Was it before you changed the key/cylinder? Is it flashing AFTER you changed the key/cylinder?

Try powering the pump from the fuel pump prime connector under the hood. That bypasses the fuel pump relay, the VATS interlocks and the PCM interlocks. Does the fuel pump fun continuoulsy when you provide 12V to the fuel pump prime connector?

Have you checked the fuse for the fuel pump? It's in the underhood box, and labeled "Fuel Pump".

Did the problem exist BEFORE you installed the new fuel pump? Is this the reason you installed the new pump?

Shoebox's info is helpful, but all the wiring diagrams are for the LT1 cars. There may be differences when compared to your LS1 car. Just be aware of that when you reference them.

I bought the car from a friend "as is"
He parked it 5 years ago and just forgot about it
I changed the fuel pump because I wanted to up grade it and I knew the old one couldn't be good setting In gas for 5 years.......and it wasn't
I thought at first if could have been the vads because when I jump the fuel pump fuse with a hot wire the fuel pump runs. And the key cylinder needed to be changed any way it was on its last leg.
The security light was never on. But when I said F it And got a new ECM it had the vads taken off it just to make sure it's not it
So I am not getting no power to the pump.. Even the fuel gage part... Still

Did you check the fuse for the fuel pump?

Here's a guide to checking the gauge, again for a 95. I believe your 2002 is significantly different once the gauge signal gets to the dash, but the power supply should be similar.

Yea I Checked all the fuels and relays
I am going to check the oil pressure solenoid
I read that it's has a part to play with sending and stoping power going to the fuel pump

There's no oil pressure "solenoid"..... only an oil pressure sensor. While it is common to use an interlock between oil pressure and the fuel pump, there is nothing shown in the wiring diagram for the 2002, unless it's buried in the logic of the body control module (BCM). I know there was none in the earlier (93-97) F-Bodys.
