Can a PRE - LT1 one wire alternator work on a 93-94 LT1 motor?

I know I would need to change the pulley, but basically here is the bind i'm in.

My alternator fried last week. I ordered a rebuild kit, and there is a chance I may not get it in time for a race this weekend. (Guy was supposed to ship thursday, shipped friday, then lost monday because of the holiday..ect ect.. ) I was going to get a back up stock one from another forum member (sorry for wasting your time Jason), but I don't have the stock harness wires hooked up, and even though I can rig it via a key power switch I don't have enough time for him to ship it from the east coast and it get here by Thursday. So my options are

1) Pray the rebuild kit gets here ontime and the kit does the job
2) Spend 260$ on a new alternator from summit which will show up by Thursday if shipped from reno.

3) ?? Looking for other options.

I can still drive on the alternator it seems to stick @ 13.6 but it was getting hot and I don't want to risk an alternator induced fire or getting stranded during the 400 mile drive to san diego on thursday.

So I'm wondering can I get a cheaper temporary alternator, and swap pullies? Will it work with the LT1 bracket, or can i use a aftermarket standard SBC bracket since I don't care if I delete everything but the alternator.

Thanks for the feedback
