If you're thinking about a Powerdyne, I wouldn't. Do a search in the Force Induction forum.

Yeah, i guess our motors are too high of compression and a supercharger will just tear it apart....do an engine rebuild on it first with a stronger bottom end first

It's not that the LT1 can't be supercharged, it can (check sig). I'm just saying that the powerdynes aren't the greatest when it comes to quality.

Yeah turbo.

N/A!!!

just kidding. If you want forced induction, I would venture into the turbo realm. My friend has a T4 in an MR2 and it hauls A$$, and that's just a 4 banger!

trust me, he can whip most Z28's if they are relatively close to stock.

A powerdyne 4.5 psi is fine. Boost that low isn't gonna destroy your motor. Just use a boost timing control.

Everyone says get ATI or Vortech because those are the best in hi-hp applications and are upgradable to provide tons of boost.

My car made 340rwhp/372rwtq with a powerdyne 4.5psi blower and Hooker shorties. I later sold the kit to friend of mine and he made 326rwhp on a completely stock '95 Z28 AUTO w/ 120K on it.

Powerdynes are very easy to install- no oil lines or anything.

Your looking at a 75rwhp increase using this blower.

Don't waste your time with a 4.5 powedyne......Boost is addictive and you'll be looking to dump it and upgade to a Pro Charger in no time

When you start getting into real boost (over 7-8 #"s) you start to need other stuff to support it (fuel system, gauges, exhaust, tuning and then drivetrain upgrades are in order over time.

Someone mentioned 340 HP w/ a 4.5 powerdyne, if that was all I wanted I'd sell my LT-1 Z and get a LS-1 and put a cam in it and do some PCM tuning.

I personally think there is no point in adding a s/c or turbo that will be running below 10psi. It defeats the perpose of having forced induction. Plus it's a lot of money for only 4.5 psi. You should built up the engine for f/i. That's my $.02

I think I made full boost at like 3600-4000 rpm. It was *110 degrees the day we dynoed it and my temp needle was above *210 when we put it on the dyno. I later upgraded to the 6lb pulley and felt a big SOTP difference.

You can't beat the Powerdyne for low boost/stock short block'd setups.

I bought my BD-11 4.5psi kit on this message board for $1400 shipped.
