Will vortech sell the impeller alone for a S-trim?

Will vortech sell the impeller only for an S-trim or maybe a T-trim. Mine is all fu(ked up.. so I need a new one or mount it as it is...

Although it would be cool to install a T-trim impeller in an S-trim housing, it can't be [easily] done. The inlet (eye) of the compressor is 1/4" larger on the T-trim, so a T-trim impeller physically won't fit in the S-trim snail.

Sounds like yours would be a 'B' class exchange, getting you only $400 towards a new T-trim unit. The head unit alone is $2150 at superchargersonline.com, probably less at TByrne.

But i would have to buy it at the MSRP and its not fair...
Any other ideas? i will call vortech tommorrow morning.. if not... I will mount it as it is.. It was making 10psi that way and it was running great...

While you are talking to Vortech , ask them how much a rebuild will cost and how long the turn-around time is. I would not put that SC back on the motor myself. With the damage that has been done I suspect that the impellor has stress risers throughout the parent material. Putting it back on the motor is just asking for the impellor to fly apart BIG TIME and send even more junk down into your motor. You might get lucky, but then again it might cost you a lot of money blowing the motor apart. A rebuild seems like a cheaper way to be sure. Just saying it hasn't blown apart yet is sort of like saying the stock pistons can handle 10 lbs. boost. Some have run this much boost but many have found out the hard way that weak parts can lead to costly repairs.

Its forged..
anyways... The aftercooler filtered some big particles... Luckily when that happened I didn't have the elbows connected to the engine.. whew... I saw no metal powder or anything on my intake runners and the car was running great, so I assume that nothing big got in there...
I will call vortech and see..

Yeah, definately dont put it back on the motor.....SOMETHING IS WRONG!
A 5.0 buddy had an S-trim that looked similar and took a look at it cause it was only making 10psi instead of his usual 14psi. He had Vortech rebuild it for some thing around $750. I cant remember what Vortech "said" happened though. It was either the motor had injested something, or the vacume line had popped off the bypass causing major surging.

I had some surging too though since sometimes the vacuum line popped... but.. if it had surging... shouldn't the impeller be worn on the side that you cant see from back pressure?
Damn 750 bucks is a lot of $ for just a an impeller.. DAMN!!!!
