Vortech head bolts stripped from the factory...
anyone else had this?
i had to re-clock the unit since it wasnt in the right position to begin with. i loosened the bolts that hold the little clamp thingies that secure the volute to the head, and once i clocked it to where it should be, 3 out of the 6 bolt/screws wouldnt tighten down. so, i pulled one out, and the bolt threads had aluminum stuck in them.
i had emailed vortech a long time ago asking about some torque specs. the guys answer was "as tight as you can get it without stripping it". i cant believe this crap. now im going to have to drill em out and tap em for bigger bolts.

I had stripped one of mine out and found a longer screw and it worked fine. A 1/4 20 bolt tightened into aluminum has a torque spec of 10 ft lbs +/- 2. 10 ft lbs aint much so its easy to over torque and strip it out.
