supercharger
I already have a Vortech s-trim on my 1995 Z28 but its maxed out at 5000 rpm and I dont shift until 7000 rpm. I am wondering if anyone has used a ys or x trim without massive mods or is it better to just buy a D-1 procharger set up or go with a t-70 or 78 turbo

What pulley's are you running to max out your s-trim at 5K rpm...

when I purchased the s trim two years ago my engine was pretty much stock. I know I have the smallest pulley I can use on the blower its like 2.75 but my engine is massively modified and I am using a accel super ram intake. with a1000cfm throttle body. I am also lacking boost

mmmk...I'm assuming you are also using a 7" crank pulley. Your definitely putting the s-trim out of its max efficiency with that pulley combo. With the 2.95 and 7" crank, thats the 14# setup which is just about where the s-trim likes to be. You either to step up to the t-trim or pulley down.
Remember your gauge is nothing but a measurement of restriction. With the large plenum volume of the superram and high flowing heads your going to see less boost on the gauge because your engine is optimally more efficient. Doesn't mean you need to "pulley up" unless your trying to be a dyno queen or unless you've got other specific hp goals. |
I havent had it on a chassis dyno yet. when the engine was built the engine dyno showed 787 fwhp. my problem is is the builder said my engine will go over 1000fwhp with a larger blower. at the track I have only been able to get in the low 12's at 114 to 118mph but I pull the front wheels of the ground. we are at 5000 feet. but the builder says this small blower is dragging me down

There is a "Forced Induction" forum specific to superchargers. Topic should be posted there. Moving.....
