Supercharged cars for road coarse?

Are they reliable cars or simply best left for drag racing??

Not planing though, but wondering if anyone has run one on road racing with continues abuse to the engine...

I guess it could be reliable if it is setup and tuned properly, but the bigger problem I think would be the additional ~100lb in the front of the car. These cars are front-heavy to begin with, with the addition of all that mass, I can imagine the car would understeer pretty bad....

I have a friend that runs a blower on a road corse and the biggest thing is keeping it cool.....

Mustang Monthly editor runs a Mach 1 with a Paxton on his car and runs it in the Sliver State Classic Challenge. No problems with an Air to Air intercooler setup.

Depends on if you are doing DE events or some other competition. During a 20 minute session, temps are OK for me. You have to build the car around the blower, and practice getting the power to the ground. Leave the cog belts at the drag strip. I am running a 10 rib off a carb system with a custom 1/2 bracket. See pics for all the details.
