hey ya can i have an lt4 knock sensor installed when i get a s/c? or can i use the same plugs i just installed bosch +4 or do i need copper ones?? and the last question can i still have my powerprogrammer 3 still tuned in my comp?? thanks for the replys i really need them because i just got a powerdyne s/c
I wouldn't use the Bosch or any Platinum plugs with a blower, I'd get AC's or NGK a heat range colder and gap them to around .035. You can use the LT4 KM with a good tune, And your Powerprogrammer III is worthless for a blown car, You will need a new tune
You can call hypertech and see if they can set you up with a custom supercharger program. It is about $150 bucks and is kind of like a gameboy cartrage that goes into your HPP. Do not run the regular HPP program on a SC setup because it will advance the timing and cause detonation. On a low boost setup like the one you are getting I can say that a HPP with a supercharger program will work if they still offer it. There are alot of people on this board that have said the the HPP is crap, but few that I know of have first hand knowledge of the HPP with a SC program.
For me since I run a lower boost setup 7-10 psi(intercooled) the HPP with SC program has worked great for YEARS. There are few people that can truly say that. I have rebuilt my motor, and I know the cause of my broken ringlands was due to the FMU's diaphram going bad and NOT the computer programing. I also had the ablity to get my car on a dyno and make sure all things were running correctly(fuel pressure, air/fuel ratio, engine timing, spark advance, coolent temp etc..)
Overall I will say for the big boost setups a more custom computer reprogramming is needed, but for low boost the HPP with the SC program should work. But what do I know, only that my original set up lasted for over 95,000 SC miles(actual miles on the motor was 114,000) and that not too many can say they have had that many years and miles on their other"custom" programmed cars. Good luck!
