Stock PCM. Aftermarket, Standalone? What you guys all running?
Stock PCM. Aftermarket, Standalone? What you guys all running?
Just trying to get an idea of what would be my best option for tuning a supercharged 383 that will likely see 15+ PSI, and be driven predominantly as a street car, with some track time on weekends.
Driveability is very important.
I'll probably max out the stock MAF at these levels, but was wondering how well the stock PCM would work since it wont be seeing any more than say 6500RPM's ... Likely slightly less than that even.
So what are some of you with the more radical set ups, like RSKrause, Lisa33, etc. running?
Thanks again for your time. Sorry for being such a pain
Oh and if your on the stock PCM, what'd you use to tune it?

Stock PCM, no problems
Have run MAF until 2007 when we decied to go strip only and installed a really wild camshsft from Bret.
It isnt a problem that the MAF maxes out beacuse youre not using it at those HP levels (youre not at closed loop then)
Offcourse an aftermarket system widh real time adjustment possibilitys would be nice, but i refuse to spend alot of money on something that i dont belivie will make me quicker than the opti and stock pcm can.

Stock with a 2-bar map. I actually bought an aftermarket DFI system, even had the pulley spacers machined from the crank wheel. I wanted to run the car first on the stock ECM ( with tuning ) before I started ripping all the harness apart. but the car runs and drives fine so I just kept the stock ECM.
