spark plug gap

I have conflicting informations and I am looking for some answers. What is the best gap to set your spark plugs running 20-25lbs of boost on my twin turbo. I was told by one mechanic .035 and another .018. quite a variance I would say.

Re: spark plug gap

I gapped mine at .035 and run 18lbs of boost with an MSD 6a and have no break-up issues to 6400 rpm.

Re: spark plug gap

I use the msd 6a also. I'm just not sure the guy that told me .035 must be right but he doesnt have a very good track record so I am looking for a new mechanic. The other guy is real familiar with dfi but I'm not sure of any of his other qualifications and I'm a little nervous to change the gap to .018

Re: spark plug gap

Assuming a good healthy ignition system, .035 should be good for boost or a nitrious setup. I'm assuming you've already wen't with a colder plug also?

Yes I have a colder plug, I'm just not sure if I should trust a mechanic that says to go .018
