Should I upgrade from an S trim to a T trim?

Because more is better and too much is just right, I'm planning ahead for a possible move up to a T-Trim in the future for my 396. I'm thinking there may be things T-Trim owners can suggest I do while the motor is out.

Two main questions:

(1) Will I benefit much from a T-Trim over an S-Trim? Here's the engine:

396 LT4, 4-bolt mains, Cola 3.875 crank 4340 steel, Lunati Pro Mod 4340 rods (5.850), Weisco pistons, 236/236 cam (540 lift), 9.0:1 compression, AFR 210 heads, Scorpion 1.6 rockers, long tube headers, LT4 intake port-matched to the AFRs, and a Holley 58mm throttlebody.

I'm thinking it can handle more than the S-Trim can produce.

(2) Does the T-Trim fit the S-Trim brackets? What changes are needed overall for this swap?

Thanks!

It really depends on you and your goals. You need to know what your going to be spinning the motor at rpm wise and then you need to know how much boost you'd like to make. That will determine which blower will suit your needs.

I would definately upgrade b/c a 396 takes more boost than a 355 will to get the same psi. The bigger the blower is the slower you will have to turn it to make the same amount of boost which is also better for pump gas(less heat). There are a bunch of reasons to go with a bigger blower. If you want to run race gas you could run more boost and make more power. :D

The S and the T trim compressors share the same compressor map on Vortech's website, hence, for the same speed and engine, they will make the same boost.

However, the efficiency islands for the T-trim are much larger, meaning it is more efficient over a larger range than the S-trim. It also has a higher max speed than the S, which ALLOWS you to spin it 10% faster and make more boost. But, of course, you need the pulley set-up to accomplish this.
