oil leak caused by blower???
oil leak caused by blower???
When I bought my car I knew it had an oil leak, but I wasn't too worried about it. Well now its getting on my nerves and I want to get it fixed. I believe the leak was caused by high compression mixed with 12psi sc (the reason I think that this is the casue is because the stroker motor only has about 15,000 miles on it). If a car was to get an oil leak from this anyone know which gasket it would be?
I would guess the oil pan would go first. Then maybe valve covers. Maybe rear main seal. Who knows?
Don't you know where the leak is coming from? I had those cork gaskets on my valve covers(on my Mustang) and they loved to work loose(the bolts).
First, find the leak!

When I first built up the motor I had an oil leak from the rear main and the seal for the opti spark.
I fixed the opti leak and tried to fix the rear main twice but never go the rear main fixed.
This year for the rebuild I have bought an electric vacuum system for crankcase ventalation. At 12 psi, oil leaks from crank case pressure is a real and onging concern.

Try some dye in your oil and use an ultraviolet light to help locate the source.
I had a nasty leak that I originally thought was the oil pan. After replacing the gasket twice to no avail, I finally decided to replace the timing chain cover gasket. Low and behold, about 2 inches up, on each side, there were obvious breaks in the gasket. It had been fine for 2 years and the leak came on literally overnight. No change in my setup, running 6 psi. Go figure.
Try the dye though, it may help you narrow down your source.
