New to Forced Induction, got a few questions?

Supercharger vs Turbo? Which is better and/or safer? Cheaper?

Who makes the best kits for each of the above said?

How much boost is needed to attain around 500 rwhp?

Anything else I need to know before starting on a project like this?

Please dumb it down for me

500 rwhp is fairly easy with either. Turbos are probably a little more streetable and have a broader power curve, but they are much more complex and harder to install than superchargers. 500 rwhp can be done with stock heads, intake, tb, and a mild cam or even a stock cam. The key is to build a shortblock that can handle the boost and have some good tuning done. Being able to tune it yourself would be the best option. The 3 most important factors will be the shortblock, tuning, and an adequate fuel system. I would also recomend getting the largest blower you can afford, that leaves room for upgrading and the larger head unit will make more power at any boost level as it will be more efficient and provide a cooler intake charge. Turbos need to be sized more to the application because if the turbo is to big lag can become a problem.

Considering the items that you have on your car a supercharger with intercooler or one of the sts turbo systems would be a good way to go. It would be best to keep the boost levels low so that you don't damage your motor. As most people will tell you anytime you add boost, you began to eat up your motor. 5-6lbs of boost yields decent power gains without doing to much damage to the motor. I would definitely get a safe tune and enjoy driving your car

p.s. breakmyfootoff do you work at the fire department in lubbock tx
