LS1 guys are LUCKY!!!

Hey, I am an LT1 guy, never had an LSx motor. I was just on another local site and came across some crazy hp numbers put down by a boosted 00 ramair.

He has stock Ls1 heads with different springs,a z06 cam, and crower rods with diamond pistons (stock displacement). With just 10psi going thru his STS rear mount, he put down 570 HP!!!!!!! I dont know how that is in the LS1 world, but for me, being used to LTs, that is INSANE.

Man, maybe instead of messing with getting some good heads for my car, maybe I should change it over to an LS1!!! I wish LT1s did close to those numbers with those mods.

PS: HE also posted his N2O numbers with the boost only numbers. He put down 704rwhp on the 150 shot, and 10psi!!!!

wow, so he probably would have put down like 600-650rwhp with a real turbo kit and no methanol!

:p :D ;)

But but but....the long piping acts like an intercooler :p

QMP did better on the stock block without nitrous. The STS kit does put down good numbers but is it doing what Rick said it would do in the beginning almost a year ago? Not as far as I'm concerned.

Considering you'll spend about as much for the STS kit, methanol, BOV, etc...as you would for the PTK kit, I'd go with the PTK.

Good for some people....not good for others, do your research and choose what you think is best for your own individual needs and goals.

Go on LS1tech.com and read about the record for the stock short block. The track times and dyno numbers are nuts. I think it's around 650-700rwhp, granted its not going to hold up too long. but it holds up long enough to put down the numbers.

Exactly. And the PTK kit will make way more power for the same $$$ spent.

Rob Raymer made 775rwhp / 865rwtq on his stock longblock formula, with his own kit.

Road racing???

Killed a 2000 LS1 out of a SS that way this spring with 22K miles on it. I guess there are always a few that slip thru. I know it makes one question the integrity of the LS1, but some guys get away with insane power!
