Don't skimp on the fuel system or you'll pay, trust me I know. Spend alot of time on the fuel system.

racer96 Nov 15, 2006 10:43 PM

yes i had bought this engine off a board meber. it is all brand new, should i get new heads or new pistons. how hard would it be to get new pistons in there. the engine is in a crate still.

I would imagine a dual in tank pump setup like the Racetronix dual 255's, 60# injectors, a good regulator and stock fuel lines should be sufficent with some room to breathe.

With that set-up, running correctly, your prolly lookin at 650-700 RWHP

thanks for the link, i hope i am in that horsepower, thats what i where i would like to be!

thjat is what he told me the other day, i am going to call the guy and ge the exact part number of the pistons. 8.25 seems very low. i see some guys running lower but i dunno i hope it is around 9:1.

ya i think i am going to run 15 psi. i thought u could run more on pump gas but it should get me close to my goals.

Kredz28 Nov 17, 2006 09:42 AM

i would ditch the high flows if you are going to run more than 15psi...

Agreed. After about 8#'s or so, the twins just can't keep up. I highly reccomend a FMIC. Or if nothing else, look into running a methanol injection system or race gas.

Properly setup though, if you max out the D1SC (my guess is that you won't see over 18#'s of boost), with the setup you said, properly tuned, it should do an easy 650-700 RWHP if not more.

Also, if possible, you may want to consider going with a FAST system to properly run everything.

BTW, I dyno'd my car at 15.3#'s of boost, and it was all done with pump gas on the stock PCM. If I had the FAST system in place of the PCM, I could have run more boost, and without a doubt gained more HP, still running off of pump gas. Video of my tune here>
