Have a dump pipe off the turbo?

I've been more and more concerned that I'm leaving some performance on the table with my current exhaust system. I think I've got too much restriction where I've *ovalized* the pipe as it goes past a reinforcement rib on the floor pan. I've currently got a 3" tube leaving the exhaust turbine housing and going back past the transmission tailshaft where it makes a 90 degree to the passenger side then another 90 towards the Borla catback. It's that choke down at the ovalization that I think might be a hinderance. I guess the only way to quantify it is to measure the back pressure at full tilt or... run the open pipe and see what my quarter mile changes (if any) are in terms of ET/MPH. I don't really want to run the QTP but I may have to resort to that. I'd rather have something like the exhaust tips on my friends 2009 Z06 that open automatically on WOT. In thinking of that, I guess it would be like the opposite of the 'quick spool' valve in that it would be activated/opened by boost.

The 3" pipe off of the exhaust housing is probably robbing a few ponies.

Run the open downpipe, or mount an electric cutout and do back to back runs and see if there is a difference.

If you trap 128mph and still cut 2.0 60" I would be more concerned with getting the car to launch better rather than hunt down a few extra ponies to spin away with.

Agreed. I have all my stuff now for the automatic (re)intall but of course, the job I've been waiting for since March is likely to happen any day now and I'll HAVE to keep the 6 speed for the commutes of 235 miles each way, every week. I may just sell the TH350 complete setup and get a 4L80E so I'll have at least 'some' overdrive (.75 I believe).

How bad is the th350 on the highway? With a 26" tire, thats like 65mph turning 3000rpm... I can see why you wanna keep the T56 lol

Yes. I'm just waiting on a V-Band clamp to attach it.
Thanks,
