Forced induction with high compression

With a static CR of 12.23:1, DCR at 9.01:1 could a turbo or supercharger be done as long as the boost is kept low on the street, alot of timing pulled and a good tune or would it just be a ticking time bomb no matter what even with forged internals?

No, the bomb wouldn't tick, it would knock.

Re: Forced induction with high compression

Couldnt be addressed by pulling alot of timing with less than 8lbs?

with a dynamic ratio at 9:1, you are pushing the limit of pump gas even normally aspirated. I don't see any amount of band-aiding with timing or reducing boost to 8 PSIG that will let the engine live with pump gas.

no, unless you run straight methonal as a fuel

Can you get E85 in your area and are you willing to install a new fuel system?

New fuel system as in getting a fuel cell etc?

Yeah. Everything from cell to injectors, plus a computer to run the injectors. Unless you use mechanical injection, which you probably don't want to do.

You can run high compression with alcohol, partially because of the octane and partially because it runs so cold.
(If I recall correctly, the change of state from liquid to vapor sucks up a LOT of heat. If I am not remembering correctly, hopefully someone will speak up.)

Alcohol is normally a PITA to run on the street, but the 15% gasoline content of E85 makes it a lot easier.
