Electrical Problem...Please Help!!

Sorry this is so long I just want to be detailed so maybe I can get some help. About two weeks ago I broke my rear end. I had a replacement laying around so I had someone put it in for me. He finished it and called me, I backed it off the lift and started driving it down the road and I only had gears P,N,R,1. I had no 2-OD. I tried limping it to my house and got about 2 miles down the road and the check engine light came on and the car completely died. When I turned the key back over to the start position I noticed my tach started surging all the way up to 5k or so rpm's w/ the car not even started, it just kept surging back and forth. While it did this I could hear my injector's clicking on and off as well as my fuel pump. I turned the key back off and then turned it back over to listen the fuel pump again, this time the fuel pump made its buzz but it never quit, it just kept doing it. I repeated the same and the fuel pump and injectors kept cutting on and off while my tach surged repeatedly. I tried to start the car and it would barely start after repeated cranking, when it did start it smelled very rich and would not idle. I kept playing w/ it and finally started it up again and it fired right up w/ no problems and I continued to drive it home problem free. Well I left it parked until today when I towed it to have the transmission fixed. It ended up being that the governor gear had broken in half. Put a new one in and everything was fine and dandy. After the car warmed up it started doing this same stuff again, w/ the tach surging and pump and injectors cutting on and off. I put the car on a lift and looked everything over from head to toe. I am clueless on what is going on? Does anyone have any ideas? It seems now like it only does it once it warms up. If it matters I am also having problems w/ my brakes but I think that is due to them not being bled properly. I am going to fix that tomorrow hopefully. I have a dyno appnt. Tuesday and I have to figure this out by then. The car has the mods in sig, only ignition changes have been the crane box Vortech sends w/ a timing retard.
Thanks
Scott

Wow I have never herd of anything like that before! All those things you describe are directly controlled by the PCM, the fuel pump, injectors, and Tach. Maybe the PCM took a turn south. I can't think of anything else that would cause that, maybe wanna try another computer, and check the ground connections, bad grounds cause funny problems sometimes. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, See I was thinking the same but It only seams to do it once the car warms up and sometimes it wont do it at all. I just lt the car idle for a half our and it was fine. I went to drive it down the road earlier and it ran like crap. I am clueless.

I'd check for codes and do a little more investigating. Sounds kinda like a bad ground or a electrical connection is loose/partially destroyed. What is the voltage from the alternator when it happens? Go through the wiring harness and start checking everything.
