ditching the FMU for larger injectors???

hey guys, im thinking of losing my vortech FMU and going to bigger injectors. im running the 6psi pulleys and using everything that came in the vortech kit.....the T-rex fuel pump, FMU, crane ignition w/boost retard etc...

any suggestions on the injector size, brand or anything related to the subject is greatly appreciated.

the reason for doing the change is because the car has been tuned but still runs rich and im already going to be changing the plugs after just a few hundred miles after the new supercharger install.....and that just aint gonna fly with me.....

thanks guys!

Most people run 42# injectors. Alot of people use FMS injectors.

there is a guy selling 36lb injectors for 200 shipped. wouldnt 36lb be enough. i dont plan on adding any more horses for a long time.

42 seems like a bit too much?

I went the 36# route based on my first tuner's recommendation and they're maxed out (running 10# of intercooled boost). I wish I would have gone the 42# route. My new tuner, Jeff Creech, says the 42# injectors are easy to tune.

Re: ditching the FMU for larger injectors???

When choosing injector sizes usually bigger IS better as the PCM is tuned accordingly. A 42 lb/hr injector can be tuned to work just fine on a stock LT1 (just not necessary). The 42 lb/hr injector seems to be the size of choice when upgrading due to a c.i. increase or a boost requirement. Running a smaller P/W (within reason) is always recommened. The cost is usually the same for most of the common sizes of injectors.

The 42# injectors don't have any downsides and leave you room to add power later. If I had a nickle for every guy who stated "no more upgrades"!
