Alittle over 400hp from the Suburban

I finally dynoed my 8.1 Suburban last week. The result was 407hp/558ft-lb torque. This was done with an intercooled Whipple supercharger making 7.5# of boost, a Volant induction, mid length headers, stock exhaust (I like it quiet ), Direct Hits ignition, electric fans and custom programming. Today was going to be a track day but of course it's raining so I'll try again next week. I'll be happy with a 14.0 - 14.1, 13.99 would be even better.

We thought the stock LT1s were fast when they were running those ETs 10 years ago. Now the tow vehicles are turning those times

Now that's the kind of vehicle I like- a sleeper. Having done some street racing over the years I always liked the guys who showed up in, say, a Jeep Comanche and blew the doors off all the 13 second "muscle cars". Or a nitrous-fed rat-motored landscaping truck with dualies on the back that would run, probably, in the 11s somewhere. Mind-bending kinda stuff. Stuff that just makes your jaw hang open when you see it run.

Think of all the guys who shove the biggest motor into the nose of their car they can and run "only" 13.0 watching something like that. It's humbling. And expensive if you drop coin to run against them.

Time for nitrous. Yes, DEFINITELY time for nitrous. 12s would be good enough to make that thing pay for itself $50 at a time on the street!

Is that blower a bolt-on kit of some kind or a custom setup that maybe you/your company is thinking of selling?

I'm using the Whipple supercharger with intercooler. It's a very nice system that produces plenty of low end power and works great when there is about 10,000lbs behind the truck.

Nice torque number! Sure is nice to have a tow vehicle that can blow away the average Honda...with the race car in tow behind.
