Is an adjustable FPR requied on boosted applications?

Is an adjustable FPR requied on boosted applications?

As the title states I'm having a new all forged LT1 built and I'll be adding forced induction once the new engine is broken in and dynoed. Anyway I'm adding a DW300 (340 lph) intank pump and hotwire kit and the Speed Inc braided fuel lines from the hard lines to regulator and I'm wondering if I should install an Aeromotive or other afpr or is that a waste of money and time, thanks?

In it a waste? Depends on how much money you have. The stock regulator is 1:1 ratio and will do the job.

I've tried two (2) AeroMotive FPRegs. The type that mount on the fuel rail. Both failed. So... I modded a Gen 1 single plane intake on a 383 LT1 with a parallel fuel delivery config. Used a remote Aeromotive Fuel Reg with boost ref and fuel bypass return to the fuel tank. I adjusted the reg to 43 to 45 psi. I have had much better luck with the larger regulator.

I have a 255 intank pump with a Kenne Bell Boost-a-pump and the stock regulator was not enough. I would run out of fuel at 5000+rpm. Changed to an adjustable FPR, bumped the fuel pressure up and it now works fine.

5-11-15 Edit: In the interest of providing accurate information, I wanted to edit my response. While changing to an adjustable FPR seemed to solve my problems at the time, I recently discovered that it was probably just a coincidence and the problem I was having was the result of something else. Sorry if I mislead anyone.

Sounds more like a problem with the injectors than the regulator.

OP unless you're pushing a large volume of fuel with bigger lines an aftermarket regulator is a waste of money. The stock regulator is capable of controlling all the fuel pressure/volume the stock lines can deliver.

Thanks guys I am getting a D1sc kit to go with my new all forged 383 and the rest of the parts in my sig, and I'll be adding a FMIC instead of the twins that come with the kit anyway will this be capable of making 700-750 rwhp? That's my target rwhp also what size injectors will I need 80#?

80's should work but you might want to tweak the pressure up a tad. I ran my 83's at 60 psi (plus boost reference) without issue.
