What heads/cam with blower?
I'm building a 383 stroker and plan on putting about 12 lbs of boost, and possibly a shot of Nitrous down the road. What is my best bet for heads... valve sizes?? And any ideas what cam would be best in this app? I'm planning on 8.5 or 9-1 comp.
Any input helps. Thanks.
If it matters at all the blower is a Novi GSS.

Re: What heads/cam with blower?
Give a little more info on that particular blower! And through a big valve in the head Cam choice should depend on purpose and RPM range.
I have a similiar setup, Victory racing 9.1 compression 383 shortblock, LE ported LT4 AFR heads with 2.05 intake valve (290 intake, 236 exhaust). D1SC procharger with a FMIC, vortech mono bypass, coated intercooler piping, SDCE bracket and tensioner. The cam will be a custom cam a lot of people run the 224/236 blower cam on a 114 LSA. I am thinking about a 227/239 cam, but since my exhaust flows real well I may go with a 227/234 on a 114 with a .580 lift roughly, I may even go smaller. I plan on shifting around 6200, so I will probably use some pretty aggresive lobes, mixing a low lift duration with high lift ( 1.7 RR's will come into play here ) I will probably run stock replacement lifters, 918 Beehive springs, etc. The rest of the topend consist of a ported Runner LT4 intake and a Monoblade 1300CFM TB.
Car is an auto and on 93 pump gas I am shooting for around 600-650RWHP on pump gas, no meth injection .
Combination motorsports made 700RWHP through an auto 383 with a D1SC using AFR heads, and a 236/246 cam, they told me not to use the 918's So I assume they had a lot of lift on that cam.

Re: What heads/cam with blower?
I dont know about the heads situation(I have an LS1) but go to www.cammotion.com and get a cam request for a boosted cam or blower cam and they will send you a cam for your application via email, its the best way to go.Good luck.

Re: What heads/cam with blower?
Well guys I got a set of AFR's for cheap, 220cc Intakes, 76cc Combust chambers, 80cc Exhaust. With 3/4" head deck... should be suitible!!
My dad is now trying to get me to build something bigger than 383 since that is too common nowadays. Anybody done a big inch stroker yet???
Thanks for the info on Cammotion, will defintely use that once I figure out what size motor I'm building.
The car will also be a daily driver, I miss my '87 Iroc and have kicked myself everyday since I bought a Mustang.... I still keep the GM loyalty with the '57 though
