General Rules and Policies
There are a few simple rules that must be followed to ensure that everything runs smoothly here. These rules are sitewide, not just the "For Sale" section. We expect all members to comply with these rules.

1) PLEASE BE SURE TO POST IN THE PROPER SECTION
Please make sure that your item is going in the most appropriate section.

2) THERE IS NO UNAUTHORIZED ADVERTISING or MAKING A PROFIT FROM THIS COMMUNITY
This forum is solely intended for the benefit of two types of people:
* Those who have an extra part or two and want to help out someone with a good deal.
* Those who come here looking for a good deal from a fellow community member.

This means no reselling/retailing/etc. for profit in quantities or otherwise. This also means no "generating interest in a product if I make it" or anything of that nature. This site is not to be used as a free tool to generate leads and/or sales on products.

If someone wants to make a profit from this site by any methods, including selling parts AND/OR services in any retail manner, including "non-profit" services and salvage operations of any size or kind, they need to be a Supporting Vendor of this site. Supporting being the important word. If someone wants to make money from this community, it is only fair that they help support this community in return for helping them make that money.

3) NOT INTERESTED IN WHAT IS FOR SALE? DO NOT POST IN THE THREAD CRITICIZING THE PRICE!
If as person has no intention of buying what is being offered, then that person has absolutely no business posting in the thread or contacting the seller with complaints or criticism about the price. Giving someone a hard time because their price is too high, etc. is not anyone's place if they are not at least going to make an offer on what is being sold.

4) DO NOT BUMP YOUR OWN THREADS (aka "TTT") MORE THAN ONCE IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD
Replying to your own thread ("bumping") bringing it to the top not only brings your thread back to the top of the forum for more exposure, but it also moves everyone else's down. Please be courteous to others by not doing it more than once in a 24 hour period. People abusing this will find their threads removed.

5) USE THE CARS/PARTS WANTED FORUM FOR POSTS ABOUT PARTS WANTED
We made the Parts Wanted forum due to continued requests so there is no reason for us to continually move "WTB" threads from here to there. Any posts of a "parts wanted" nature will be deleted. Cross-posting (posting the same threads in both forums) will result in both threads being deleted.

Some have tried to use the excuse that this forum has more traffic. Sorry, that defeats the purpose of having more than one forum on a web site. Use the proper forum when looking for parts.

6) NO EXCESSIVE USE OF EBAY LINKS
If you want to sell to the highest bidder, eBay works fine. If you want to help out a fellow car owner/enthusiast on a good deal, this is your place.

Again, this forum is meant to help others, not get the highest bidder. Abuse of this can result in your posts with eBay links being deleted.

7) SITE USER AGREEMENT APPLIES TO MARKETPLACE SECTION
Click here to review the site User Agreement, which must be agreed to in order to create an account. Violation of this agreement can result in account limitations or suspension.

If you see a violation of these rules, PLEASE click the " REPORT! " icon found in the bottom left hand corner of each and every post. Your help is appreciated.
Fraud Awareness and Information

Because there is no foolproof way to prevent fraud, awareness is the best defense. Please review our tips below, and use your best judgment in all transactions.

We do not get involved in transactions between buyers and sellers.
This web site and site administration:

  • Does not guarantee or endorse transactions
  • Does not have preferred or pre-approved buyers or sellers
  • Can not guarantee the authenticity of any item listed here
  • Cannot assume someone is guilty of fraud based on claims that can not be proven
  • Does not collect guaranteed personal data nor has resources to investigate claims or problems due to a transaction
  • Strongly suggests that you use common sense and investigate any deal before proceeding.

This site is not a dispute service.
If a deal has gone bad, don't decide to make it into an argument here as it will not get results. If you have tried to resolve a transaction without results, trashing the other person on the Internet never does any good, and no positive result to your situation can come out of publicly bickering over it. Take it up with the authorities who have the ability to achieve results.

If you feel your deal has truly gone bad:

  • First, we suggest that you post your experience with the buyer/seller in our Feeback forum (see "About the Feedback System" below). Be respectful, honest, and fair with your comments and you may have better luck getting a positive result. Include the other party's full name and not just the user name. Please do not include any more of the other party's personal information such as address or phone number.

    If that doesn't work...

  • If payment was made with PayPal:
PayPal's Information on How to Dispute a Transaction
    (PayPal login required):

  • If the USPS was utilized in the transaction:
    USPS Mail Fraud Complaint Form

  • If there are no other resources available, file a claim with the FBI:
    FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center
About the Feedback System
The feedback system is intended to be used as as guide and is not a guarantee of any kind. Posts made on the Feedback forum regarding bad deals in the Marketplace section that head in the direction of arguing and dispute will be closed or removed to encourage contacting the proper authorities for resolution.

The feedback system is in place with the intentions of buyers and sellers to honestly rate their transactions in a truthful manner. We expect all who use it to use their best judgment, enter fair comments and attempt all methods of resolution before negative feedback is left.

The seller and buyer assume all risks inherent in a transaction. Due to the nature of the feedback system, site administrators and staff will not intervene in any feedback issue. Buyers and sellers are responsible for their own words and actions.
