Seeking input on new project car

Hey peeps, since winter is on its way I am considering firing up a new project. I am trying to decide what to do. I am thinking about a C4 corvette, or possibly a thirdgen. I already have a 96 Z28 so a vette would be cool because its something different. My goal is something that would be a fun car that I can drive on the weekends and autocross when the time comes.

Thoughts or suggestions?

Re: Seeking input on new project car

why a c4 when everything on a c5 is soooo much better. Suspension, drivetrain, brakes etc

Of course I do love a clean thirdgen but I may be biased.

Third-gen for sure. Nice ones are getting hard to find, but if you put in the time and money they clean up so nice

I think the Vette looks freakin badass. I havent even considered a C3...is the price point somewhat cheap to get into one of those?

If you go with a Vette, get a C5. Just get one with a ton of miles, they go for cheap and parts aren't too bad.

Where? I've been toying around with the idea of building one, but if you can pick one up already ironed out and done right for ~$8k I'd definitely be interested.

Clean earlier model C3's give me one of those boners you used to get in highschool that came outta nowhere. LSx C3's even more so.

No you can't. Unless it POS c3 that needs another $8k to finish the project.

Damn, too bad it runs through a slush-box to power the wheels and not a T56. If there are more of those around I might start seriously looking.

"It needs cosmetic work mostly, seats recovered, carpet, paint."
Seats+carpet + paint is easy $5000.
