Although I'm curious as to what it did to the bones, whether they got smashed, or are still in tact.
Seriously, I'm thinking about how my shredder is designed and there's not enough room for a finger to get through there bone intact.

Site blocked at work ("gambling" was given as the reason).

Your thinking desk side shredders. I've worked in offices that had shredders that took up a room and could shred a puppy.

Crimony. Maybe I don't want to see what something like that did to some woman's hand...

I hope that was not on her bowling night. That could be tricky.

Crazy glue and some bandages and he/she will be masterbating with that hand in no time.

Re: Please keep fingers clear of the paper shredder

The diabolical part is that some shredders will autostart with paper inserted. So, it can look like it's off, but it's really lying in wait.

That graphic image warning meant business. OUCH!

Let this be a reminder to all of us about the hazards of moving machinery. That includes engines, shop tools, whatever. they will sneak up and bite you if you forget to fear them! I can't count how many times I've seen a long haired person leaning under the hood of a running car, for instance. No respect for the whirling sharp things...

That photo is just crazy in an almost "doesn't look real" way. Why is there seemingly not as much blood as I'd expect there to be when one has just ran their hand through a shredder?

It looks like a Body World's display.

Maybe Aunt Flo dropped by earlier and she ran out.

Perhaps because the wounds are down to the bone and muscle and the body has a difficult time pushing blood through the small, damaged capillaries in the fingers?

It looks like the picture was taken at a hospital after the injury had been cleaned (and probably after it had bleed for a while and had time to clot).

I would think the bones are still in-tacked. Otherwise we would be looking at a finger-less hand, not a bunch of fingers that are sliced halfway through.
