determine number built

I have a 98 Z-28 Artic white convertible with blk top. I know that 283 white Z-28 were built but not how many with black top. is there any way to know that number?

Re: determine number built

I would recommend checking out the Camaro Whitebook. They have production numbers in there, but I don't know if it will drill down to how many with the black top.

I'm also going to move this to the Lounge as this is the wrong forum to post in.

Re: determine number built

The Camaro White Book "Color" table only shows the total number of Arctic White Camaros built, without differentiating between base model, Z28 or SS. Similarly, a note covering "convertible tops" only shows the total number of white (522), black (2,365) and neutral (941). And the two sets of figures are not in agreement, since the total number of converts comes out to 4,677, while the total number of tops adds up to 3,828.

A possibly more reliable source might be the CompNine website (a GM dealer). You enter your VIN and you get a complete breakdown of the RPO and color codes, along with a production date for the car. Each option also shows the total number of vehicles for that option. Then they try to predict the rareness of your vehicle, but it appears to be done mathematically, using the % of cars with your individual options. They consider so many options (like the individual coil spring codes for each corner of the car), that most every car comes out to be 1 or 2 of a kind, or some other somewhat meaningless low number. My Formula came up as the only one produced w/ that combo of RPO's.

CompNine lookup used to be free, but last I checked there was a small charge.
