Y pipe question.. *searched*
Are all aftermarket Y's about the same? I deleted my cats today and in the process I smashed the s**t out of my SLP Y trying to get it to plug into my cat delete pipes. -Second darn time that thing didn't want to line up again after I removed it. :irk:
It's an OVAL 3" Y now.. :rolleyes:... Could I just order an ORY from someone and not have a problem getting it to slip onto my SLP LT's? The collectors are kinda stubby. I need a new exhaust.. :blah:... Although, w/ the cat deletes, the exh is loud as bawls!! I LOVE IT! I just have to fix the damn leaks, gonna go get some band clamps. EDIT: SLP LT's ARE JUNK PPL!! I have to get a new set of headers now.. apparently... I'd have a hard time matching a Y for them... Pacesetters at TSP for $379, COATED too! ....OR.... $500 TSP special for Pacesetter LT's and TSP ORY...Not bad... |
Did you try calling SLP to see if you can buy a new Y pipe? If you cant do that then try and exhaust shop to see if they can replace the part of the pipe that you smashed.

I'm not doing ANY more SLP stuff. NO MORE. Maybe some DD SFC's, but that'd be it. Those darn headers and Y hang low enough.
I'm going to have to just live w/ my crushed pipe exh and save for Pacesetter LT's and TSP ORY. There is one exh place in town, I'm gonna see how much they'll run me to do a Dual X dumped setup. But The headers I have are junk.. Bad ground clearance, and I'm just tired of them. They're been on the car for almost three years now, I bought them at a time when I know very little about EXH stuff. |
Note.. THis exhis Loud raspy and throaty as h3ll! I LOVE IT!
But...give it a month or two and it could get old. Stripped a lot out of the inside of the car, so in 5th at 70 it sounds like the rear hatch is open. |
