Question Deleting EGR with Header Install.

Hey guys, I just got my headers a few months ago, and I'm about ready to install. I have non-emissions LPP (well, XS Power) headers and an ORY. I plan to get a mail-order tune right after (or maybe during) the install. I will have EGR and AIR tuned out, but I'm trying to take the easy way out and avoid ripping the EGR stuff off of the intake manifold.

If I have EGR tuned out, can I just leave everything on the car and block off the end of that hose that normally runs to the exhaust manifold?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. All you need is the single diamond shaped plate to cover the hole where the corrugated riser tube connects to the back of the intake manifold. Install it using a home-made gasket or RTV. I would also remove the vacuum line that runs from the intake manifold to the EGR vacuum solenoid, and put a vacuum cap on the manifold nipple.

Perfect. Just the information I was looking for. I also remembered seeing in a thread that you had an EGR bung welded onto one of your header primaries, but I can't find one. I don't want to cut it off of my exhaust manifold either.

Re: Deleting EGR with Header Install.

I have AS&M headers, with full emissions. The AIR connections are plugged, and the EGR connection is blanked with a plate.

What was added to #7 primary is an EGT (exhaust gas temperature) bung, with a thermocouple that feeds my MoTeC ECU data logger.

Ok, must have glanced over that quickly. Thanks for your help.
