Pacesetter LT's + SLP TOTL exhaust

anyone have this combo without cats + the pacesetter Y? Any thoughts on this combo? I already have the TOTL and will probably be doing the longtubes very soon. Hope it all bolts up together?

Wish I could find the soundclip, but someone had a similar setup and it sounded very nice. It had a little rasp to it, but nothing major.

Mine sound good, not too loud or raspy (I think). Although I still need to put the cutouts on for some real LT1 sound.

Here is a good question, Im gonna do my clutch and flywheel soon, should i do it all at once. Will having the tranny out help in the LT install?

Does the coated Pacesetter/Ypipe package come with new hardware, gaskets, and O2 extensions?

The tranny won't make a difference in the header install. As for the hardware, the Pacesetters comes with gaskets, header bolts, and a wiring kit to cut/splice/crimp your factory harnesses. I'm not a big fan of cutting up the factory harnesses and would much rather spend a little extra money and buy 02 harness extensions that run about 20-25 bucks a piece.

My set didn't come with any of that except crappy header gaskets. I got the header/y-pipe combo from Summit Racing.

From what I hear, people recently have been getting the copper gaskets instead. I bought my headers a couple years ago and I got the garbage paper gaskets as well. Those went straight in the trash along with their 02 sensor wiring kit and I made a phone call right away for Fel-Pro header gaskets and 02 harness extensions.

The 2OTL will sound almost exactly like it already does when its done at lower RPMs. You can hear the clearer note of the headers at high RPM and under heavy throttle though. Its actually a pretty quite exhaust setup until I open the cutout. Open cutout is LOUD, ive literally made kids cry at a car show once. Warned them it was gonna be loud and they didnt listen to me. Camera does that no justice at all. doesnt sound very good unless youre going WOT though. I like to keep my cutout half-open. Quiets it up a lot but barks when you throttle.

I dont have the pacesetter y-pipe though. I had a custom 2.5" made so it would fit better on the drivers side. Most people with 3" pipe get vibration against the bottom of the car because theres no clearance there.

only find them used now, slp no longer offers it. Love mine, combined with the MAC headers and a magnaflow cat it sets off car alarms on the side of the road.

Also have an off road pipe for when the mood strikes...
