Header question 1996 SS with coil pack conversion

Hey guys I have a 1996 SS with the coil pack conversion and I’m wondering what headers would fit and not cause an issue with the LS style coil packs and wires. Also wanted to not have heat issues I’ve read the mid length headers may cause heat issues. I was looking at the pacesetter mid length headers with the ceramic coating. Could do pacesetter long tubes but was worried about clearance issues driving around NY

You don’t have to mount the coils on the valve cover……. I did it this way 23 years ago:

Never had a problem with my AS&M mid-lengths. If you keep the coils on the valve covers, you could minimize the possibility of heat issues by having the headers coated with a quality cera-metallic coating.

On the other hand, I haven’t seen LS1 owners complaining about heat problems. This next photo is a 97 30th Anniversary SS with the coils on the valve covers, and 2” Lemons uncoated headers. That beast was making 1,350 HP at the flywheel, and running low 8’s. Not an LT1…. it’s a Gen 1 SBC 383ci, Dart Iron Eagle block, Brodix spread port heads, and a huge Vortech supercharger.

Thank you for the info.

I already have the coil packs on the valve covers so wasn’t really looking at relocating them.

i for sure was loping at getting the ceramic coated pacesetter mid lengths. Was more curious if I would have to change my plug wires being the LS style with those headers.
