Yukon 4.11 Ring and Pinion Gears
Anyone ever try Yukon ring and pinion gears? I noticed you can actually get them in the stronger 4.11 ratio. You can buy them from Randy's Ring and Pinion.
I was all set to buy a 4.10 Motive Gear package from Thunder Racing until I found these 4.11 Yukon gears. I think Yukon gears are used largely in offroad stuff. Any opinions would be appreciated. |
GM/Yukon gears are the quietest gears you can get. Motive is quiet, but not as quiet as GM/Yukon because the GM gears use tighter tolerances. Of course this also makes them slightly weaker, but strength is something you will not find in the stock 10 bolt.
And unless you know what you are doing, have them professionally installed. Make sure you have an install kit with all bearings, seals, and shims. A search should turn up what you need. |
I was told GM used Motive?

I had the Yukon 4.10's. Very quiet.
If you happen to get the AAM manufactured Yukon gears they are the exact same as GM boxed gears. I was told that GM has not used Motive for a very long time. |
