Well all of a sudden all gears are more difficult to get into gear and reverse is impossible. With the engine off, i can get it into reverse and all other gears, then start the car and it's fine. What's the problem?
Thanks

Sounds like the clutch is dragging as a result of the clutch not totally releasing. If there is any drag period then its hard to get in to gear especially reverse. Check the hydraulics, maybe the pressure plate bolts are backing out.

i just checked hydraulics... Fluid is fine... Took off slave cylinder... seems ok.. Guess i'll have to remove the transmission.... boooooo. Is there a chance that even though the hydraulics visually check out good, and feel normal, that they could still be bad. As you can tell i really want to avoid removing the trans

update: well it seems like with the car off... if i pump the clutch numerous times before putting it into gear, it slides in normally. Haven't tried with the car on yet. i'll have to try after work. I'm really hoping this is a master/slave cylinder problem

ok so.. clutch/pp is fine. Just installed brand new gm master/slave. With the engine running, i can NOT get it into reverse at all and all other gears are still more difficult than normal. Transmission gone?

If everything is fine now but reverse, it may be the reverse lock out solenoid.

I had the same exact issues a few months after buying my car. Previous owner had a centerforce put in. Change the cluth set and everything worked fine. Unfortunately I bought a Spec and that grenaded in less than 10k. If it were a tranny issue, I would assume gears would be difficult even with the engine off.
