Question what series carrier is in a 2.73 rear end

as the topic says "what series carrier is in a 2.73 rear end?"
I know nothing about rears so any help would be great. I'm shopping for some gears and posi, but I dont know what series I have.
Thanks

If your car came with a 2.73 gear than you are running a series 2 carrier. If you are planning on upgrading your gear than I would highly recommend going with a Strange Gear. Unless your posi is bad there is no need to upgrade in my opinion. I was putting down over 500 rwhp with my stock series 2 carrier.

Why do you recommend Strange? I'm thinking either 3.73s or 410s. What about Motiv Gears?
Thaks again

2.73's is a 2 series carrier. 3.23's or higher is a 3 series carrier. I recommend GM Motive gears, they are probably some of the best, quietest gears out there. You can also get upgraded gears, like 3.73's for example for a 2 series carrier from them as well. Just make sure you specify that's what you need when ordering.

I base my opinion on experience. I think Strange makes a great gear for a series 2 carrier.

Are you stating that you can get a 3.73 gear from Motive designed for a series 2 carrier? If so, where did you find it?

Yes I believe you can, I'm pretty sure Summit has them. That's what I was gonna go with until I bought a rear with 3.42's installed.
