What clutch for DD with not so much power

I'm running almost stock now, and except cam + 1.6rr and 275 or 315 rears I don't see much more in the future. Car is starting to go harder in gear and the clutch engages almost at the top of the pedal.

I want something that is comfortable to drive and will hold up occasionally when I race it, and also not wear out after 15k miles... There are lots of threads and everyone has different opinions.

Does it really matter which brand you go with at my power level? What you guys recommend? Should I just go Acdelco from ebay or it's worth going for ram/spec stage1/etc?

Thanks!

I would get the Autozone Kit and buy a different clutch disc on ebay or something.

There is a sticky on top of this forum about our clutch choices.

A RAM HDX would fit your needs. I found it very streetable, even with 3.23 gears.

@97'Z-28: I read it twice but it doesn't really say what they do or how much they cost, it just states their existence.

As expected everyone thinks something else is best ram, autozone, mccloud...

Right now I'm thinking of getting ram hdx. Also considering spec stage1...

Do people change the master/slave along with this job? Are they supposed to be changed with clutch kits or only when they stop working?

The thing about the clutch issue is all the kits come with the same PP. The AZ route is to try and save a few bucks, but you can't just get the RAM disc AFAIK. You have to buy the whole kit.

And the hydraulics should be fine as long as they are not leaking and work good.
