Transmission shift is never consistant

I have a 4L60E from Art Carr and a 3200 stall from Art Carr. When the car shifts on 1-2 and 2-3 shift its never consistant. One time it will shift at 6600 RPMs ( too low ) then sometimes it will shift at 6900 rpms ( PERFECT) and other times it will shift at 7200 rpms ( too high ) WHat gives? why wont it ever shift at the same RPMs ??

Re: Transmission shift is never consistant

Im going thru the same thing man with my 3200 stall and E trans . I need to be right at 6900-7000 on my shifts and I cant get mine to shift consistently above 6000 rpms . If I try to make shift later ....all 1-2 and 2-3 is crash right into my 7400 rpm fuel cut off . To even get the damn thing to shift at 6000 , I have the 1-2 shift mph set at 20 mph , that corrolates to about 2800 rpm with the 3.42 gears I have . So , now I have a car that wont trap higher than 112 because I cant stay in my power band .

If anyone has a clue , please post

Re: Transmission shift is never consistant

I wonder if it is temperature related. Such as the temp of the tranny vs the shift pressure ???

Whatever it is, its damn annoying and making me wish I went to a 6 speed conversion.

Anyone want to buy an Art Carr tranny and stall ???? LOL

I did alot of searching on the net last night . Both pcmforless and Ed Wright have the fix for this problem now.

I tune my own PCM and have no need for a pcmforless or Ed Wright tune. it sure would be nice if they told us how to solve the problem.

Yep , I tune my own too . Bryan wont lock your pcm and what they are fixing for higher stall speed isnt visible in LT1 edit .
