Transmission Mount keeps breaking..

Bought the car with the transmission mount broken, replaced it. Now its been almost 4-5 months and the stock mount I put on is broke again.

Is there any better brands to buy? Tried searching, something about a poly mount maybe?

Thanks

A poly mount will work but will transfer more vibrations to the car..just a trade off for a mount that will last.

I could live with that I guess. I assume normal auto part stores ( autozone, ect..) would sell them?

I am not sure if the normal auto parts stores sell them or not..but you can get them from Summit Racing..online.

If you do go with the ES poly mount make sure you grind the 2 nubs down flat (level with the top of the mount) and don't use the preload plate. This will eliminate most of the added vibration

They do uh? Sweet, I'll go down tomorrow and check it out at my local store. If not, I'll just order one off of summit.

Any brands that anyone prefers or would recommend?

Thanks, if I end up getting the ES poly mount, I'll make sure to do that. Appreciate the advice.

Got an ES mount! After going around to 3 different auto part stores. Autozone and Advance Auto Parts told me up front they wouldn't carry it. O'Reailys told me at first they wouldn't but one guy saw the part on the shelf behind them and was like OH!

But needless to say, it works great! Feels good to push down on the gas pedal!

Yeah saw why I need to not use that one plate and ground down those rubber bumpers flush.

just about any tranny mount for a chevy trans will work, but you have to go poly, its the only way to not break them

You might need to change the motor mounts too, to solve your breakage problems. Extra movement from the motor could be putting more strain on the trans mount.
