torque converter Install problems

first thing: I dont really have a reverse??

It doesnt move really at all unless floored. Doesnt move when floored from a stop.

It doesnt shift at wot.

Car moves as if in neutral when In reverse.

A LOT of white smoke coming from passenger side under tranny dip stick area.
Could this be from the transmission fluid??

any ideas??

Never heard 3 clicks on install but it sat flush. Anybody? The car pulled VERY hard at one point, but it seems very awkward most of the time. Like barely moving when first starting off and this is ABOVE 4k!

Did you fill up the TC with tranny fluid before you installed it?

Dave89IROC Dec 30, 2007 07:59 PM

did the TC spin free after the bellhousing was bolted up, before installing the TC bolts?

have you checked the basics, like fluid? does it make any funny noises

filling it before install should not matter.

Thanks for your help guys, but I just overreacted. I didn't let the engine warm up fully to get the tranny juices flowing thoroughly. It's AWESOME now. Behaves exactly as I've heard it does.

Hopefully you didn't hurt anything. Whos converter did you go with, and what's the stall rating. Did you add a nice cooler?

fuddle 3k at stock up no cooler yet. I have the lower bell housing cover off for now.
